Land Rover Perentie

Perentie History

The Perentie was made in Australia in two runs between 1986 and 1998. They were produced in a 4x4 and a 6x6 platform. Some say this is the most capable Land Rover ever produced. The 4x4 Perentie has several important upgrades compared to the standard Land Rover of the time. A 4BD1 Isuzu diesel truck engine was fitted with a Range Rover gearbox. The chasis was modified for an under-slung spare wheel and then hot-dipped galvanised.

For better or worse I have bought one of these and hope to teach my son to drive in it. I am a bit of a Land Rover fan once having a blue and white soft top series III that featured in the kids TV show “Round the Twist”. My Perentie needs a bit of work so I have drawn one and made poster prints that I hope (fingers crossed) to sell to help pay for the upgrades and work. Click the button below to go to posters.
